Do you really have to exercise to lose weight? In my journey to lose weight, I tried to restrict my calorie intake and not exercise. It's all about a calorie deficit, isn't it? I noticed that I'd do well in the first half of the day by restricting my food intake to a light breakfast and zero calorie drinks like tea and coffee. What I noticed was that in the evening, I would “reward” myself with a large dinner. I started noticing that I would then eat junk food at night so I started going to sleep early to prevent this. Sleeping early helped curb my calorie intake at night but I wasn’t losing any weight. I realized I had to exercise. When your goal is weight loss, you have to burn calories. Restricting your movement throughout the day because you are too weak to move or don't want to move around too much out of fear that it will cause you to be hungry is not going to help.
