I feel so bad for myself for all the cardio I did in the past. It seems so pointless. Some of the main points are: 1) The muscles you workout while doing cardio are not your large muscles so you are working out parts of your body that do not require much energy so you have to run for a long time to burn an amount of calories that will lead to significant weight loss. Think about the difference in the way a marathon runner looks versus a bodybuilder. 2) You have to spend much less time in the gym lifting weights than you do on the treadmill because it is more efficient. 3) Muscles keep burning fat more efficiently even when you are not in the gym.
